    (April 26, 1711-August 25, 1776)
Wrote 'Treatise of Human Nature,' 'An Abstract of a Treatise of Human Nature,' 'An Enquiry concerning Principles of Morals,' 'History of Great Britain' and 'Dialogues concerning Natural Religion'
As he got older he kind of looked like The Quaker Oats Man.
His work wasn't too popular at first, and he described the reception to 'Treatise of Human Nature' as 'It fell dead-born from the press, without reaching such distinctions even to excite a murmur among the zealots.'
He believed that passion, and not reason, should be our guide in ethics.
He argued against common sense beliefs, like personal identity and causation.
He is considered one of the greatest philosophers who ever lived.
He began studying law when he was 12, but found it boring and quit.
He achieved a great deal of wealth from writing 'History of Great Britain.'
Immanuel Kant credited him with 'Awakening me from my dogmatic slumber.'
His 'Dialogues concerning Natural Religion' struck near fatal blows to just about every 'proof' of God's existence.
As strange as it was, his treatment of causation seems to fall in line with quantum mechanics.
Because he saw promise in him, he financially supported Jean-Jacques Rousseau before he became famous.
