    Born in Richmond, Virginia
    Alternative rock band
Mark Linkous (1962-March 6, 2010), vocals, guitar, keyboards and drum machine
    Scott Minor, drums
    Johnny Hott, drums
Recorded the albums 'Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot' (1995), 'Good Morning Spider' (1998), 'It's a Wonderful Life' (2001), 'Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain' (2006) and 'In the Fishtank' (2009)
Linkous committed suicide at age 47
The 'band' was pretty much Linkous and whoever he invited into the studio or on tour.
While working as a roadie for Cracker, he got the group banned from a Hoboken club by dumping chests of ice onto the audience.
While touring, Linkous' heart stopped after he overdosed on a combination of anti-depressants, Valium, alcohol and heroin (1996).
Linkous described his approach to one album as 'I've been trying to write really simple songs to make them sound like they're coming out of a satellite that's crashing into a gas giant or something.'
