Like many opera singers, he is full of himself.
He has a reputation for canceling performances at the last minute, earning him the nickname of 'Bryn the Cancel.'
He loves the music of Tom Jones.

He suffers from back problems, and has had two painful surgeries to help correct them.
He loves golf, but admits he's a terrible player.
He's had to endure non-Welsh people mispronouncing his name his whole career (although Katie Couric, of all people, once got it right on PBS).
