The Resume

    (April 13, 1951- )

Why he might be annoying:

He would rather go by Peabo than Robert?
On August 21, 2003, the I.R.S. seized his property for a $1.2 million tax debt dating back to 1984.
Among items seized were his two Grammys, gold records, a grand piano, African art, keys to the city of Miami, his bed, hundreds of shoes and a yellow-and-black spotted Italian jacket.
He's shilled for the Classic Soul Ballads music collection infomercial.
During a 2006 concert he told the crowd 'John Legend is never going to be doing what I can do,' a classic case of an old schooler tripping on a new school artist.

Why he might not be annoying:

After Donny Hathaway's suicide he was hand picked by Roberta Flack to replace him on the recording of two duet albums with her.
He won two Grammys for two Disney song duets, one with Celine Dion ('Beauty and the Beast') and the other with Regina Belle ('A Whole New World').
A friend of the family successfully bid $9,400 for his 'Whole New World' Grammy and gave it back to him.
He's performed in musical theatre, including a tenor role in George Gershwin's opera 'Porgy and Bess.'
He has four Top 20 hits on Billboard's Singles charts (including a #1) and 16 Top 20's on Billboard's R&B Singles charts.
