Why she might be annoying:

    Her father immediately nicknamed her Pat for his 'St. Patrick's babe in the morn.'
    She and her husband had the unfortunate sexual entendre name of 'Pat and Dick.'
    She was the woman behind the man role model of the 1950's.
    She smoked, but rarely in public.
    It is speculated that she was a closeted alcoholic.
    She was born a day before St. Patrick's day and died a day after her 53rd wedding anniversary.
    She preferred formal dress up events over casual affairs.
    She was a huge fan of the soap 'Search for Tomorrow.'
    She may have been the prototype for the 'Stepford Wives.'

Why she might not be annoying:

    Her mom died when she was 13, so she took care of her older bothers and dad and still attended school (1925).
    Her father died when she was 18. She took a job as a bank janitor and enrolled in Fullerton Jr. college.
    She relocated to New York City, learned to become an X-Ray tech before returning to California to complete her college education.
    She graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Merchandising from the University of Southern California (1937).
    She taught High School and attended every school sports events, rallies and PTA meetings.
    Anthony Summers claims Richard Nixon beat her up after he lost his 1962 California gubernatorial run.
    Her reputation was to shake every hand on a receiving line, not merely to attract votes, but she didn't want anyone to feel left out.
    As First Lady she called for volunteerism and made literacy a priority.
    She visited over 80 countries.
    She was the 1st First Lady to visit the People's Republic of China.
    She was the 1st First Lady to visit a combat zone - South Vietnam (1969).
    She visited a leper colony in Panama.
    She added 600 paintings and antiques to the White House collection.
