Why House might be annoying:

    During Hugh Laurie's audition, Bryan Singer allegedly said 'See this is what I want, an American guy' unaware that Laurie was British.
    Hugh Laurie auditioned via video in a hotel bathroom, because 'it was the only place with enough light.'
    The format is usually the same for each episode.
    The ratings weren't very good in the beginning of its first season.
    The show is criticized for making Dr. House seem like a sexist, racist, and homophobe.

Why House might not be annoying:

    Hugh Laurie won a Golden Globe for his performance (2006).
    The show is critically acclaimed.
    It is one of the highest rated series on television.
    It is not afraid of offending people.
    The show was able to keep a majority of 'American Idol' viewers tuned into the Fox Network.
