Why they might be annoying:

    They did guest spots on Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie.
    They wrote the theme songs for The Monkees Show. and Days of our Lives.
    They were cut out as producers of the Monkees Show by Don Kirshner, who claimed they were using booked studio time to record tracks for their own solo projects.
    They were at the center of controversy after it became clear to the public that the Monkees had not performed the instrumentals for their early hit songs (but had dubbed over the vocals).
    Boyce made a failed attempt to go solo under the alias Christopher Cloud.
    Boyce formed his own band, in 1979, embarking on an ill-fated tour that received little public attention (only one person paid to see his Middlesbrough concert).

    They wrote more than 300 songs and sold more than 42 million records as a partnership
    The song 'Last Train to Clarksville' was a huge success for the Monkees and hit Number 1 on the Billboard 100.
    They had five charting singles of their own, including three Top-40 hit songs.
    They wrote hit songs for Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Leaves, and Jay and the Americans.
    They reunited with Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones in the mid-1970s, performing at theme parks across the US and Japan for two years.
    Hart was nominated for an Oscar for his song 'Over You,' which he wrote for the movie 'Tender Mercies.'
    Boyce committed suicide by gunshot and suffering a brain aneurysm.
    They wrote and sang the official campaign song for the Let Us Vote movement, which successfully lobbied for the lowering of the voting age to 18.
