Composed the scores for the films 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966),' 'Once Upon a Time in the West (1968),' 'The Thing (1982),' 'Once Upon a Time in America (1984),' 'The Mission (1986),' 'The Untouchables (1987),' 'In the Line of Fire (1993),' 'U-Turn (1997)' and 'Mission To Mars (2000)'

Why he might be annoying:

His score for the film 'What Dreams May Come (1998)' was withdrawn and replaced by a Michael Kamen written score due to negative screen tests.
He composed the score for one of the most detested movies in history; 'Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975).'
He was falsely rumoured to have worked under the pseudonyms Bruno Nicolai and Nicola Piovani.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has composed nearly 400 scores, including all of Sergio Leone's films, in a career that spans over four decades.
His partnership with Leone ranks with other classic director/composer partnerships such as Eisenstein & Prokofiev, Hitchcock & Herrmann, Fellini & Rota.
Metallica used his score 'The Ecstasy Of Gold' from 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' at the start of their shows before appearing on stage.
He was nominated for six Best Music Original Score Oscars, finally winning in his sixth attempt for 'The Hateful Eight'.
He won four BAFTAs for Best Score in 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1991.
He won over 25 other major awards in his career and has been nominated for countless others.
It has been said that he would have won an Oscar for his work on 'Once Upon a Time in America,' had the distribution company submitted the paper work so that it could be considered for nomination.
