Composer
    (October 1, 1865-May 17, 1935)
    Born in Paris, France
Composed 'Symphony in C' (1886), 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' (1887), the opera 'Ariadne and Bluebeard' (1907) and the ballet 'La Peri' (1911)
He left the Paris Conservatoire in frustration over his inability to win any prizes for his early works.
He was a perfectionist who destroyed much of his work out of dissatisfaction.
'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' is the only one of his works that remains well-known.
He began composing at age 14.
He was life-long friends with Claude Debussy, who he met at the Conservatoire.
'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' became the best remembered segment of Disney's 'Fantasia.'
