    He argued that deplatforming has harmed the left's ability to organize.
    He studied political science and international relations at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
    He criticized MSNBC for firing Sam Seder over a tweet that he had made in 2009.
    He was known for his dead-on impressions of political figures (including Barack Obama and Chris Matthews).
    He was a fervent supporter of Brazilian President Lula Da Silva during his imprisonment.
    His untimely death sent shockwaves through the political community, prompting condolences from Cornel West, Glenn Greenwald, Chris Hayes and Marianne Williamson.
    The cause of death was reportedly an undiagnosed thrombosis in his neck.
