Why he might be annoying:

He took a duck hunting trip with Vice President Dick Cheney to Louisiana while Cheney had a case pending before the Supreme Court.
After the court overturned a Texas sodomy law by a 6-3 vote, he said of the finding '(You have a) right to bigamy, you have a right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery, you have the right to anything.'
He said the court has 'signed on to the so-called homosexual agenda.'
In his concurring and dissenting opinions, he often makes sarcastic comments about or takes shots at other justices.
He restricted audio and video recording of his speeches.

Why he might not be annoying:

He said: 'I even accept for the sake of argument that sexual orgies eliminate social tensions and ought to be encouraged (2004).'
He was an original, insisting on the strict, literal interpretation of the US Constitution.
He protected flag burning as a form of free speech.
He ruled that criminal sentences could not be increased because of facts determined by judges rather than juries.
He was a devoted family man, fathering nine children.
He believed strongly in making the correct moral choices.
