Politician

The Resume

    (September 18, 1984- )
Born in Denmark, Bamberg County, South Carolina
    Attorney and political pundit
Member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 90th district (2006 - 2014)
    Political analyst on CNN
    Book is 'My Vanishing Country'

Why he might be annoying:

He lost as the Democratic Nominee for Lt. Governor in the state of South Carolina (for which he vacated his State House seat).
He has been criticized by members of his own party for adopting several 'pro-Zionist' stances.
He has engaged in several insult-driven shouting matches on CNN with conservative pundits.
He deleted a tweet in reference to the Covington Kids, claiming they should be 'punched in the face' (that got him named in Sandmann's lawsuit against CNN).
He got into a back-and-forth with Cornel West after West accused him of being tied to 'very right-wing Jewish lobbyists.'
He responded by saying 'I don’t have shit to say about Cornel West. If Cornel West runs for office I won’t be there standing by him. At one point, Cornel utilized anti-Semitism as political currency a lot like Donald Trump used racism. Now, it’s pretty fair to say that Cornel West is an anti-Semite just like Donald Trump is a racist.'
On at least two separate CNN segments, he has gone on record urging people to 'have testicular fortitude' (wait...what?).

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the son of prominent civil rights activist and professor Cleveland Sellers.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College, where he served as student body president.
He made history in 2006 when, at just 22 years old, he defeated a 26-year incumbent State Representative to become the youngest member of the South Carolina state legislature.
The win also made him the youngest African American elected official in the nation at that time.
He was named to Time Magazine’s 40 Under 40 in 2010.
He was named to The Root 100 list of the nation’s most influential African-Americans in two consecutive years (2014 and 2015).
His work on both Barack Obama's campaign in 2008 and then the Clinton campaign in 2016 helped secure solid wins in the state for both.
He got emotional during a CNN describing his daughter's treatment for a liver condition.
