Why he might be annoying:

Although Baha'i preaches monogamy, he had three wives simultaneously.
His second wife was his first cousin.
He claimed to be the fulfilment of messianic prophecies in Judaism, Christianity, Sunni and Shia Islam and Zoroastrianism.
He sent letters to the world's leaders asking them to accept his revelation, with no result.
His followers object to public displays of his photo (but they are more peaceful about it than Muslims).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was repeatedly imprisoned and exiled for his religious beliefs by authorities in Persia and the Ottoman Empire.
His left hand shook for the rest of his life after he survived a poisoning attempt by a rival messianic claimant.
His writings emphasized the equality of all people and the need to eliminate prejudice.
