Outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1997–99), Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1999–2001), Arizona Diamondbacks (2002), Cincinnati Reds (2002–03), Oakland Athletics (2003), Anaheim Angels (2004), Washington Nationals (2005–06), Seattle Mariners (2007) and the Kansas City Royals (2008–2010) and San Francisco Giants (2010)

Why he might be annoying:

He is a prima donna.
His diva-like behavior wears thin on the teams he plays for.
He fathered four kids before his 25th birthday.
He was named in the Mitchell Report, which revealed he was abusing steroids earlier in his career.
He was suspended from the Angels after he publicly called out Mike Scioscia after the latter pulled him in favor of a pinch runner.
Months after being traded to the Nationals, he ratted out former teammate Brendan Donnelly to the umpires during the Angels-Nationals series, which led to Donnelly being ejected from the game for putting pine tar in his glove (2005).
During the post-game news conferences, he referred to Scioscia as 'a piece of trash' and citing he was still bitter over the way Scioscia treated him during his tenure with the team.
He is notorious for charging the pitcher's mound.
He nearly pulled a Ron Artest by almost jumping into the bleachers to attack a fan who was heckling him.
He missed the start of spring training after he removed an ingrown toenail by himself (March 2010).

He made his MLB debut on the Pirates 'freak show' team (1997).
He is the sixth player in baseball history to record more home runs than walks in a single season.
He was able to establish himself as an everyday player after his trade to the Nationals.
He played for the Dominican Republic at the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
He was able to change his attitude towards teammates following the debacle with the Angels.
