She has a rather husky voice.
She was overshadowed by Missy Franklin on Team USA.
On 'Survivor,' she thought she could beat Boston Rob in a fire-making challenge (she lost, and forfeited her first Tribal Council vote as a result).
In Episode Eight, she and Missy Byrd openly planned to fabricate sexual misconduct on the part of Dan, in an attempt to get ahead in the game.
Although she and Byrd didn't go through with that plan, she accused Janet of trying to do the exact same thing.
But Janet genuinely believed that Kellee had been sexually assaulted by Dan, and was just trying to protect the other female contestants by voting him out.
After that episode aired, angry viewers tweeted her reprimands and messages of disgust.
Her tweet in response to that episode started with 'If you are reading this, I'm assuming you have watched the most recent episode of Survivor and are looking for answers.'
She was the first contestant ever to be sent to Island of the Idols.
She began swimming at age five.
In addition to her two Olympic medals, she also won the gold at the 2011 World Championships, in the 400m medley.
She retired her competitive swimming career in 2017, after 12 years on Team USA.
She and Missy Byrd ended up defending Dan against charges of sexually-based touching.
She directed a Twitter apology to Kellee, Janet, and Dan (for intending to falsely accuse him of victimizing her).
She was voted out at the Tribal Council where Karishma received the majority of votes, all of which were negated by a hidden immunity idol.
Her younger brother Danny paid her a visit at Ponderosa, as he was already in Fiji for the loved ones’ challenge she ended up missing out on.
