Basketball Player
His career was overshadowed by his brother's.
Unlike Horace's career, his career was primarily spent on poor Washington teams.
He wore goggles on the court, exactly like his brother did.
Despite playing a different style of game, he was frequently compared to his brother by basketball pundits.
He transferred colleges twice before he established himself at Oklahoma.
Despite having a poor rookie season, he improved his game considerably enough to finish second in voting for the NBA Most Improved Player Award (1989).
Despite being a starter in his first stint with Washington, he unselfishly was willing to take a bench role after being traded to Portland.
He was reacquired by the Bullets, in a reserve role and stayed on when the team changed nicknames to the Wizards.
All three of his sons followed in his footsteps and pursued basketball careers.
He didn't mind the fact his career didn't have the exposure or the championship accolades his brother's had, but was grateful to have the chance to play in the NBA.
