    Before their official wedding ceremony (1970), she and Bano went off to a secluded grotto, exchanged rings, then cut their hands and exchanged blood.

    Her daughter Ylenia Maria Sole Carrisi disappeared under mysterious circumstances in New Orleans while backpacking around the world (January, 1994).
    Part of the reason her marriage to Bano foundered was his belief that Carrisi was dead (based on the testimony of a security guard who saw a woman generally resembling Carrisi jumping into the Mississippi River) and her insistence that their daughter was still alive.
    A televised reunion concert with Bano was an international hit, attracting 51 million viewers in eight countries (May 30, 2015).
