    His execution day is a national holiday in the Czech Republic.
    He issued a crusade against the King of Naples.

    He teachings were influential on Martin Luther.
    He proclaimed that bishops and the Pope had no right to ‘raise the sword in the name of the church.’
    He sought to rid the Catholic church of corruption and ethical abuses.
    Pope John Paul II expressed regret over Huss’ execution.
