Why he might be annoying:

He starred in a lot of the really cheesy monster movies of the 1950's.
He originally hated the script of 'Airplane!' and said it was the biggest piece of crap he ever read.
He has had a comb-over hairstyle for his entire career.
He hosted his own 'A&E Biography.'
He was angered when in the 'Mission Impossible' movie his character turned out to be a traitor and was killed off.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a deep voice.
He became a radio announcer when he was 16 years old.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
His small role in 'Airplane!' was pretty memorable, for completely absurd lines like, 'Have you ever seen a grown man naked?'
Some of his movies were mocked on 'Mystery Science Theater 3000' with a lot of the jokes on his behalf. He did not seem to mind and even planned to make an appearance on the show.
He was left handed.
