The Resume

    (July 1, 1941- )
    Born in Savannah, Georgia
Columnist for the Washington Post's style section
Co-anchor for 'CBS Morning News' (August, 1973-February, 1974)
Married to Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee (1978-2014)

Why she might be annoying:

She graduated near the bottom of her class from Smith College.
In her columns, she profiled several people she condemned as social climbers -- behavior she was hardly innocent of herself.
During her stint on the CBS Morning News she had a knack for inappropriate ad-libs, such as following a segment on the children of migrant workers by joking that child labor 'was how I felt when my mother and father made me clean up my room.'
Her frequent condemnations of Bill Clinton's adultery were pretty hypocritical, considering that she began an affair with Bradlee while he was married to his second wife.
Many Washington insiders felt her animus towards the Clintons had less to do with Bill's behavior than a perceived snub from Hilary turning down an invitation to one of her parties.
Her Washington Post column ended after she was accused of using it to publicize her ongoing feud with Bradlee's children from his previous marriages (2010).
She is a believer in the occult who claimed to have put hexes on three people, two of whom died shortly after.

Why she might not be annoying:

Bradlee said, 'She brought a new kind of energy and pizzazz to the Post. She was the best thing in the style section.'
She bought racoon-infested Grey Gardens from Little Edie Beale and spent several years restoring it to its former grandeur.
She was the capital's premiere hostess for two decades.
She refused a psychiatrist's recommendaton that she institutionalize her son Quinn, who was born with learning disabilities.
