The Resume

    (September 18, 1888-March 21, 1953)
    Born in Zurich, Switzerland
Full name was Antonia Anna Wolff
    Psychotherapist
    Associate of Carl Jung
Wrote 'Structural Forms of the Female Psyche'
Identified four aspects of the female psyche: the Amazon, the Mother, the Hetaira (or Courtesan) and the Medium

Why she might be annoying:

She started as Jung's patient, having been treated by him for depression.
    She later became his mistress.
She unsuccessfully tried to get Jung to divorce his wife Emma.
She published little under her own name.
Jung destroyed his correspondence with her and omitted any reference to her in his autobiography.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her father refused to let her pursue a college degree, saying it was inappropriate for a young upper-class woman.
She, Carl and Emma eventually settled into a menage a trois that all three found acceptable.
Emma Jung wrote, '[Carl] never took anything from me to give to Toni, but the more he gave to her, the more he seemed able to give to me.'
She provided crucial support for Jung during his near breakdown after his falling out with Sigmund Freud.
She helped Jung name and define some of his best-known concepts, including anima and persona.
Jung was so emotionally devastated by her death that he was unable to attend her funeral. (He sent Emma in his place.)
