    Recorded the albums ‘Pat Suzuki’ (1958), ‘The Many Sides of Pat Suzuki’ (1958), ‘Broadway ‘59’ (1959), and ‘Looking at You’ (1960)
    Portrayed Linda Low in the original Broadway production of ‘Flower Drum Song’ (1958)

Why she might be annoying:

    She bounced around five colleges (and went through what she called ‘a beatnik phase’) before graduating from San Jose State.
    One of her nicknames was ‘Miss Pony Tail.’
    She was replaced by Nancy Kwan in the film version of ‘Flower Drum Song.’ (‘I was seven months pregnant at the time and I would have had some trouble playing a stripper.’)
    She said about her signature song, ‘I Enjoy Being a Girl,’ ‘I have to sing that song in my act and I really don’t like it.’

Why she might not be annoying:

    She and her family were forcibly relocated to an internment camp during World War II.
    She was discovered by Bing Crosby while performing in a club in Seattle.
    She won Downbeat magazine’s poll of disc jockeys as best new female singer (1958).
    She sang at John F. Kennedy’s inauguration.
