Football Player
Like Ozzie Smith, he went by the nickname 'The Wizard of Oz.'
He spent the majority of his playing career on poor Browns teams.
Some die hard Browns fans felt he committed treason when he continued to work under Art Modell in Baltimore.
Despite doing the majority of the general manager's duties, he was never officially appointed to the position until 2002.
He faced intense criticism from Ravens fans after he signed Elvis Grbac to a long term contract, despite the fact his team won the Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer.
He was voted Player of the Decade for the 1970's at the University of Alabama.
He wasn't afraid to sacrifice his body to help his team win and even played injured during the season.
He played in 198 consecutive games for the Cleveland Browns.
He was the architect behind the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl XXXV championship team (2000).
After losing a good portion of his Super Bowl XXXV championship team to salary cap issues, he drafted future franchise cornerstornes Ed Reed, Joe Flacco, Terrell Suggs and Ray Rice in subsequent years.
He was the first African-American to be appointed general manager of an NFL franchise.
