Why they might be annoying:

They are a one hit wonder.
The band name came from two factors - a Manchester nightspot called 'The Jigsaw Club,' and that they were 'pieced together' from various other groups (Scott and The Antarctics, The Surfcyders, Clockwork Shoppe, The Mighty Avengers, Pinkerton's Assorted Colours and The Fortunes).
In Australia, they were known as 'British Jigsaw,' due to a band of the same name in Oz.
Both sax players were gone by the time they released their 1975 hit 'Sky High.'
When they ceased to be Jigsaw in 1983, only Dyer and Scott, the band's songwriters, were left.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their original live shows consisted of fire, explosions and wild antics, long before KISS came along.
They reworked Bach's 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' on their 1970 debut album, and the British group Apollo 100 took thier work, reamde it as 'Joy,' and scored a Top 10 hit with it in 1972.
They wrote 'Who Do You Think You Are?,' which was a 1974 hit for Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods.
'Sky High' reached #3 on the singles chart in the U.S., #9 in the U.K. and #1 in Japan.
When Mexican wrestler Mil Máscaras, popular in Japan, began using 'Sky High' as his entrance music, the song hit the Japanese charts again in 1976, reaching #2.
Dyer and Scott continued songwriting after the band broke up, and their works have been recorded by various artists, including Nicki French and Boyzone.
Two weeks after falling off a ladder and subsequent brain surgery, Clive Scott died of a stroke at age 64 (May 2009).
