He was adopted by his mother's cousin.
Sunday August 18, 2002 was proclaimed to be 'Bo Diddley's Day.'
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1987).
He was also inducted into the Blues Foundation's Blues Hall of Fame (2004).
He was self taught playing guitar.
His career lasted for over 5 decades.
