Sports Executive

The Resume

    (May 26, 1950- )
    Born in Stockton, California
Principal owner of the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers
President and CEO for the San Diego Chargers (1994-2015)

Why he might be annoying:

He is the most hated man in the City of San Diego.
Like his father, he routinely threatened to move the team if he didn't get a new stadium.
He followed through on his threat when the City of San Diego refused to finance the stadium with taxpayer money.
Like Donald Sterling 30 years earlier, he moved his team from San Diego to Los Angeles.
He was so desperate to move his franchise to L.A., he accepted a deal to play in a soccer stadium in nearby Carson.
He comes off as being surly and arrogant in interviews.
He is described as being a 'dipshit' by his fellow peers in the NFL ownership ranks.
He gives Mike Brown a good name (and that ain't saying much).

Why he might not be annoying:

He inherited the Chargers, keeping it a family run operation.
He watched the Chargers make their first Super Bowl appearance in his first season as President and C.E.O.(1994).
He gradually took over the day to day operations of the Chargers, while his father's health was in decline.
He responded to the criticism he received in the wake of the decision to move to L.A. stating he knew it was going to be a slow process in regards to establishing a fanbase.
Although it wasn't his first choice, he successfully negotiated the deal with Rams owner Stan Kroenke to have the Chargers become a co-tenant at the new stadium in Inglewood.
