    (January 8, 1943- )
    Born in Newton, Iowa
Researcher best known for his book, 'The Bell Curve' investigating how IQ is distributed in America
BA from Harvard in History and PhD from MIT in Political Science
Other books include 'Losing Ground: American Social Policy 1950-1980,' 'What it Means to be a Libertarian: A Personal Interpretation,' and 'Real Education: Four Simple Truths for Bringing America's Schools Back to Reality'
    Member of the Quaker religion
Being from a poor family he got into Harvard largely on the basis of his high SAT scores, but now he wants to abolish the same SATs.
He was accused of racism because he allegedly said IQ was genetically based in 'The Bell Curve.'
In an act of vandalism as a teenager, he burned a cross he and some friends had made.
He has apologized profusely for the cross burning, maintains it was just dumb teenage vandalism, and pointed out that it was burned in an empty field in the middle of the night and not in the presence of blacks as the Klu Klux Klan used to do.
'The Bell Curve' in fact does not in any way, shape, or form say that intelligence is inherited or that any racial, ethnic, or socio-economic group has a lower or higher score than any other. And no one that has actually read the book has said it has.
He spent six years in the Peace Corps in Thailand and married his Buddhism instructor, which doesn't sound make him sound like a racist.
Absolutely no one that knows him has accused him of racism.
He is an outstanding researcher in the field of social sciences.
As a member of the Quaker church, he is anti-racism, and anti-war.
He looks a lot like Angus Scrimm from the Phantasm movies.
