Why he might be annoying:

    When they started Yahoo!, he and Filo called themselves ‘Chief Yahoos,’ which ‘Fortune’ described as ‘the kind of silly title that at first makes us geezers over forty want to roll our eyes.’
    After Yahoo! provided the Chinese government with information that led to the arrest of journalists, he justified the company’s actions, saying ‘To be doing business in China or anywhere else in the world, we have to comply with local law.’
    He ticked off many Yahoo! investors when he turned down an acquisition offer from Microsoft (2008).
    He claimed the $44.6 billion offered by Microsoft was not a fair price, even though it was 60% higher than Yahoo!’s market value.
    Eventually, Verizon would buy Yahoo!’s web services for $4.48 billion (2017).
