Organized the march at which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made his 'I have a dream' speech

Why he might be annoying:

He had bad teeth.
He spoke with an affected quasi-English accent.
He was prissy and effeminate.
He was once arrested for public indecency.
He was a college dropout.
He was a conscientious objector during World War II.
Many in the Black Power movement hated him for his homosexuality, his willingness to compromise with political opponents, and his commitment to nonviolence.

Why he might not be annoying:

He organized many marches to protest discrimination of all kinds.
He was arrested over 20 times for protesting and disobeying Jim Crow laws.
He advocated nonviolence.
He believed in negotiating with political enemies, saying it was the best way to turn them into friends.
He was an eloquent speaker.
He came out as gay in the 1950's, well before the gay rights movement.
Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms mocked his sexuality, but Martin Luther King stood by him.
