    Mother of actor Mark Harmon
    Grandmother of actress Tracy Nelson and singers Gunnar and Matthew Nelson
    Most of her acting was in B-movies.
    She broke off her engagement to football player Tom Harmon when he joined the Army Air Corps (1942).
    She then wed photographer Paul Hesse, with the marriage lasting barely over a year.
    She started as a fashion designer and was offered a movie contract after she modeled her own creations in 'Vogue.'
    She was a popular pin-up during WWII, making several appearances in 'YANK' magazine.
    When she and Harmon did get married (1944), her wedding dress was made out of silk from the parachute he had used to bail out of a crippled plane.
    Her marriage to Harmon lasted 46 years until his death.
