Hockey Player

The Resume

    (March 28, 1965- )
    Born in Ajax, Ontario, Canada
Drafted 19th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft
Defenseman for the Edmonton Oilers (1985-91) and the New York Rangers (1991-99)

Why he might be annoying:

He suffered various concussions during the course of his playing career.
His surname was the brunt of jokes by hockey pundits.
He led the Rangers in penalty minutes for four consecutive seasons (1992-96).
He rushed back to the Rangers lineup three games after he was viciously sucker-punched to the ice, which played a role in the head injury that ended his career.
He was initially considered a throw-in by the Oilers in the trade that sent Mark Messier to the Rangers.

Why he might not be annoying:

He won four Stanley Cups during his career (1987, 1988, 1990, 1994).
He was a hard hitting defenseman who wasn't afraid to stick up for his teammates when called upon.
Rather then attempt a comeback following the sucker-punch, he wisely retired after being diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome.
He served as an alternate captain during his tenure with the Rangers.
Outside of hockey, he was known for working with various inner city charities within New York City.
