    Recorded the albums 'Traveler' (2015), 'From a Room, Volume 1' (2017) and 'From a Room, Volume 2' (2017)
    He dropped out of Vanderbilt after one year.
    He formed a southern rock band called the Jompson Brothers, featuring four non-related musicians, none of them named Jompson.
    He collects pocket knives but notes, 'It's harder nowadays -- airplanes don't let you on with pocket knives any more.'
    He said about his beard, 'My wife has never seen my chin.'
    He was valedictorian of his high school.
    His album 'Traveler' was inspired by a cross-country road trip he took after his father's death in 2013.
    'Traveler' was the best-selling country album of 2016.
    In addition to his own material, he wrote #1 country hits for Kenny Chesney, George Strait, Luke Bryan, and Darius Rucker.
    On his 40th birthday, he won ACM Awards for album of the year and best male vocalist, and became the father of twin boys.
