Why they might be annoying:

If they wanted to be the first band alphabetically in the CD bins at music stores, they forgot about ABBA.
After just three years from the release of their first single, Fry and White were the only members left.
The duo hired session musicians to plug the gaps.
Worse yet, they added vertically challenged chrome dome David Yarritu and blond bombshell Fiona Russell-Powell (aka Eden) to their line-up for window dressing only. Neither could play or sing.
When the 80's ended, they were out of hits, out of ideas and out of luck.

Why they might not be annoying:

Fry was attending Sheffield University when White and Singleton, band members of the group Visa Versa, were interviewed by him for his fanzine 'Modern Drugs.' They hit it off, asked him to join, renamed their band and began a successful 80's journey.
They released 'Poison Arrow' and 'The Look of Love' as singles, which became Top 10 UK hits and paved the way for their debut album 'The Lexicon of Love,' which hit the UK charts at #1 (1982).
The singles became big hits in the US as well, in part because of heavy rotation by MTV.
They turned 'The Lexicon of Love' into a long music video/short movie spy-caper story (1983).
    Fry took ill between 1985-87.
After Fry recovered, they had one last big hit, 'When Smokey Sings,' reaching #5 in the US and #11 in the UK. It was a tribute song to Motown legend Smokey Robinson.
