Why she might be annoying:

Her stage name sounds like Van Gogh.
She competed in her first singing competition at age eleven.
She made her name in a series of Filipino American Idol/ Star Search knock-offs.
She dropped out of college to compete in 'Search for a Star.'
She has been accused of imitating Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey at the expense of developing her own style.
She was romantically linked to Filipino TV personalities Mark Bautista, Erik Santos, Christian Bautista, and Luis Manzano.
She is promoted as having a rivalry with Filipino pop star Sarah Geronimo (or at least their respective fan bases hype up a rivalry).
She asked for a photo with Lin-Manuel Miranda during her 'Hamilton' audition because she was convinced she wouldn't get the part and it would be the last she saw of him and anyone connected with the West End revival.
Sounds an awful lot like her mentor Lea Salonga asking Claude-Michel Schonberg for his autograph during her final 'Miss Saigon' audition and then getting the coveted role of Kim (hey look, sucking up really works!)

Why she might not be annoying:

She is the eldest of four children.
She won her first amateur contest performing a cover of Jennifer Hudson's 'And I Am Telling You' (at nine, she was the youngest contestant).
She represented the Philippines in the Shanghai Music Festival's Asia New Singer Competition, placing as the silver-medalist for her rendition of 'From the Start' (2004).
She made her television debut singing a cover of Celine Dion's 'All By Myself.'
She was named Most Promising Female Singer by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation (2005).
She won Best Own Song for 'Isang Lahi,' at the Astana International Song Festival Kazakhstan (2005).
She won a Best Actress award at the Broadway World Philippine Awards (2012).
She won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Gigi in 'Miss Saigon' at the WhatsOnStage Awards (2015).
Her dream stage role would be to sing the part of Elphaba Thropp in a revival of 'Wicked.'
She is a protégé of fellow Filipino star Lea Salonga, and the two performed a duet of 'Movie in My Mind' at BBC Radio's 25th Miss Saigon anniversary gala.
She felt it was a blessing in disguise that her hosting gig for GMA's Party Pilipinas ended with the show's cancellation, because it freed her to pursue a stage career.
