    When Katharine Hepburn was finished filming 'Suddenly, Last Summer,' she spat in his face.
    His film 'Cleopatra' had so many cost overruns that it nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox.
    He was present when Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn met for the first time. When Hepburn said 'I'm afraid I may be too tall for you, Mr. Tracy,' he shot back with 'Don't worry, Miss Hepburn – he'll cut you down to size.'
    He and John Ford are the only two people to win back-to-back Best Director Oscars.
