    He struggled to stay healthy during his career.
    His sudden death added another tragic chapter to the Angels franchise, coming 10 years after Nick Adenhart's.
    There were rumors circulating on the internet he died from opioid abuse, which were proven to be false.
    He was one of the prospects the Angels traded away in the Danny Haren trade (2010).
    His career win-loss record was 28-38 over eight seasons.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was left handed.
    He grew up an Angels fan, and called being drafted and playing for the franchise a dream come true.
    He was described as being a fun teammate, and often helped organize themes for road trips as team bonding exercises.
    He pitched his final game two days before his death.
    His friend and former teammate Patrick Corbin wore #45 in his honor, prior to his start for the Nationals two days after Skaggs' passing.
