Why he might be annoying:

Allegations of nepotism surfaced when NBC put him on the air shortly after his father died.
Like Kathie Lee did with son Cody, Tim Russert often talked about him on television.
He said he was a 'religious reader' of political websites.
He is a diehard Buffalo Bills fan.

Why he might not be annoying:

NBC originally hired him to cover youth issues at the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.
He graduated Boston College with a communications degree.
He stood up to scandal ridden Charles Rangel when Rangel verbally berated him after Russert asked if he was worried about losing his seat due to his upcoming ethics trial.
Continuing his father's legacy, he does a lot of work with the Boys and Girls Club of America.
