Murderer

The Resume

    (June 4, 1979-February 12, 2013)
Born in New York City, New York
    Los Angeles police officer (2005-08)
Terminated for making false statements accusing another officer of kicking a suspect
Shot and killed the daughter of an LAPD officer and her fiance (February 3, 2013)
Ambushed a police car, shooting two officers, one fatally (February 7, 2013)
Shot two San Bernardino police officers, killing one, during a standoff at a cabin in Big Bear Lake, California (February 12, 2013)
Committed suicide later that day after the cabin caught fire

Why he might be annoying:

An ex-girlfriend left a message on the website DontDateHimGirl.com, warning women about his extreme mood swings.
During LAPD training, he was accused of punching another recruit and was suspended for accidentally discharging a firearm.
He did not accuse officer Teresa Evans of using excessive force until two weeks after the alleged incident -- coincidentally, just after Evans gave him a poor performace review.
Three witnesses testified that Evans did not strike the suspect.
He posted on Facebook a manifesto threatening a dozen LAPD officers and their families.
His first victim was the daughter of the officer who defended him at the termination hearings and claimed he was being made a scapegoat. (Ingrate.)
He terrorized southern California for nine days.
He said his motive was clearing his name, but he chose a method that seems counterproductive at best.
He was adopted as a folk hero by, as one analyst put it, extremists on 'the Chomsky-esque Left and the Ron Paul Right, who view the killer's manifesto as an articulate indictment of the 'police state' they have always opposed.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He claimed to have been the target of racist name calling in elementary and high school.
He was a decorated Naval Reservist.
He said he was only targeting police and their families and stuck to it: he did not harm the owner of a boat he attempted to steal, the owner of a pickup he carjacked, or the two owners of a condo who recognized him.
If you were a civilian in southern California, you may have been at greater risk from the police than Dorner: in two separate incidents, police fired on pickup trucks that they thought resembled Dorner's, injuring the occupants, even though in one case the driver was a white man and in the other the occupents were two Hispanic women.
In his manifesto, he expressed regret that he would miss Shark Week and 'The Hangover III.'
