She is overshadowed by Beverly Johnson.
She wasn't as successful as those who came later whose careers she made possible.
She taught a non-credit freshman course at Harvard - 'An Introduction To Fashion.'

Why she might not be annoying:

As a freshman at Harvard, she applied to Glamour's 'Best Dressed College Girls' contest and won - earning a spot on its cover.
Her Glamour issue has since sold millions of copies, and remains its highest selling issue.
She became the first African-American to model on the cover of a women's magazine.
After graduating Harvard, she went on to work with companies like TJ Maxx and Laura Ashley.
She had her own fashion line which featured crisp white button-down blouses.
She said of her trailblazing career: 'We're not where we need to be, but we're so much farther than where we were, because believe me, I've lived it... the celebration of Black beauty is something that is very, very new, and has a long way to go.'
