Why he might be annoying:

    His full name was Faisal ibn Ghazi ibn Faisal Al Hashim.
    Because he was only three when he became king, an uncle served as regent until he was 18.
    He was smuggled out of the country during a pro-Axis coup in World War II.
    His pro-British foreign policy alienated Arab nationalists in Iraq, especially after the 1956 Suez crisis.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Herge used him as a model for the character Prince Abdullah of Khemed in the Tintin comics.
    He wrote ‘Ways to Defend Yourself,’ an Arabic guide to judo (1951).
    He used Iraq’s growing oil revenues to fund an ambitious modernization project, including irrigation works, schools, and hospitals.
