Baseball Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He led the National League in errors during his first couple seasons.
He was a member of the 1969 Cubs team that faltered down the stretch and coughed up the NL East to the New York Mets.
His trademark play as a shortstop was known as 'The Down Pat.'
He was traded to the White Sox for virtually nothing.
His hiring as the White Sox manager was seen as nothing more then a publicity stunt by team owner Bill Veeck, who was looking to capitalize on his popularity with the Cubs.
He posted a record of 46-60 in his lone season as the White Sox manager.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and Glenn Beckert formed a solid middle-infield duo for the Cubs for nearly a decade.
He improved his hitting skills as a switch hitter, under the tutelage of Leo Durocher.
He set a major league record for most games by a shortstop without an error.
He earned a Gold Glove Award in two consecutive seasons with the Cubs.
He was the last player-manager in the history of the American League.
He wisely made the decision to lock his players in the clubhouse during the infamous Disco Demolition Night, which in turn prevented them from being in the crosshairs of the near-riot.
