The Resume

    (June 2, 1945- )
    Born in Van Nuys, California
Producer or executive producer of the films 'A Star Is Born' (1976), 'Caddyshack' (1980), 'An American Werewolf in London' (1981), 'Flashdance' (1983), 'The Color Purple' (1985), 'Rain Man' (1988), 'Batman' (1989), 'The Bonfire of the Vanities' (1990), 'Batman Returns' (1992), 'Money Train' (1995), 'My Fellow Americans' (1996), 'Wild Wild West' (1999) and 'Superman Returns' (2006)
    Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures (1989-91)

Why he might be annoying:

In a New York Times profile of him and production partner Peter Guber, he was called 'the loose cannon on deck who manages to alienate almost everyone Guber has charmed.'
He boasts about breaking down the door to a Warner exec's office and jumping up and down on his desk.
He pulled a gun on a bill collector.
He was arrested for parole violation for failing to complete his community service from an earlier DUI bust (2008).
He was sued for sexual harassment by 'Superman Returns' co-producer Brian Quintana, who claimed Peters fondled him, roughed him up and threatened to break his legs.
He was ordered to pay over $3 million to a former assistant who sued for sexual harassment, claiming that he groped her at his home and climbed into her hotel bed during location filming (2011).
He was sued by the California K-9 Academy for abandoning his dogs and failing to pay $25,000 in bills (2012).

Why he might not be annoying:

His stepfather was an abusive alcoholic.
He worked his way up from Barbra Streisand's hairdresser/boy toy to one of Hollywood's most powerful producers.
When Streisand was late for her first appointment, he told her, 'I don't care what your reputation is or how big a so-called superstar you are. Nobody makes Jon Peters wait.'
With fellow hairdressers Gene Shacove and Jay Sebring, he was one of the inspirations for Warren Beatty's character in 'Shampoo.'
The films he produced grossed over $6 billion worldwide.
A Wall Street analyst said Peters and Guber were 'as powerful as any studio.'
Guber said, 'He has the ability to pull the rabbit out of the hat. Jon can turn a problem into an opportunity.'
