His name sounds like the beginning of a terrible joke.
Most of his TV appearances are made on kid shows.
He performed in a bizarre duet with Condoleeza Rice (2002).
He sometimes performs with an antique cello that was made in 1733.
In one of the most absurd accolades ever, he was named People Magazine's 'Sexiest Classical Musician' (2001).
He almost always wears his huge blast shield glasses.

He came from a musical family.
He played his first concert when he was five years old.
He mastered the cello at a very young age.
He attended Harvard.
He doesn't limit himself to certain genres of music.
He is one of the few cellists to achieve worldwide fame.
