The Resume

    (June 4, 1963- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
Founded the fashion line, Mossimo (1986)
    Married Lori Loughlin in 1997
Indicted as an alleged parent participant in the college admissions bribery scandal (2019)
Charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud; pleaded not guilty

Why he might be annoying:

He was called out for manufacturing a 'by the bootstraps' narrative for himself when he came from an upper-middle class background.
He changed his name in first grade at the suggestion of his teacher who said his name was difficult to pronounce (but he just switched out the 'a' with an 'o'...)
He and his wife were accused of paying $500,000 for their two daughters to get into USC as crew recruits (they didn't even row).
His daughter accidentally admitted that he pocketed his parents' tuition checks to help fund his fashion business (they thought he was going to USC).
His wife has taken most of the blame, but emails have shown that he had the more active role in the scandal.
He reportedly convinced Lori against taking a plea deal because it would 'ruin their careers,' insisting on taking it to trial.

Why he might not be annoying:

He expanded into the luxury golf fashion industry.
His brand became popular in the '90s and went public when he was only 29.
He sold the exclusive rights of his brand to Target in 2000 (he made over $8 million that first year alone).
He lost both of his parents in 2019 (his father in January, his mother in July).
He did study business and architecture for three years at the University of Southern California before dropping out (so he wasn't a complete 'fake student').
