    (January 8, 1904-June 2, 1948)
    Born in Mulhouse, France
    Adolf Hitler's personal physician
    Major-general in the Waffen-SS
Appointed Reich Commissioner for Health and Sanitation (1942)
    Executed for war crimes
He ran the T-4 euthanasia program that killed 200,000 physically and mentally handicapped 'useless eaters.'
During WWII, the euthanasia program expanded to include exterminating 'biologically inferior' people, including Jews, Gypsies, Poles and Russians.
He sent several aides to help set up the gas chambers in death camps.
He approved medical 'experiments' on concentration camp inmates by Josef Mengele, Aribert Heim and their ilk.
His excuse for his actions was 'Any personal code of ethics must give way to the total character of the war.'
On the gallows, he whined about being a victim.
In the last days of the Third Reich, he sent his wife and children out of Berlin so they could surrender to the Americans.
As a result, he was charged with treason by Hitler, found guilty and sentenced to death.
Heinrich Himmler and Albert Speer intervened to prevent his execution. (Although it proved to be a temporary reprieve.)
Before his execution, he wrote to the authorities offering, 'I am of my free will willing to submit myself to a medical experiment offering no chance of survival.'
