Recorded the single 'Smile A Little Smile For Me' (1969)
    They were one-hit wonders.
They broke up partly over their producers' unwillingness to let them record more rock-oriented material.
Some music trivia books claim James Taylor was their vocalist; he was actually a member of an unrelated band with the same name that broke up in 1967.
Taylor's former label was not above capitalizing on the confusion by releasing a 'Flying Machine' album after 'Smile A Little Smile' became a hit.
'Smile A Little Smile' went top five in the US and sold two million copies.
Colman led a march on BBC Radio One headquarters to protest the lack of rock music (1976) and was hired to present a weekly show.
