The Resume

    (1969- )
    Born in London, United Kingdom
    Welsh singer-songwriter
    Wife of Harry Shearer (pictured)
Singles include 'Creatures of Habit' and 'In the Summertime'
Albums include 'Emotions on a Postcard' (1996),' 'Happy This Way' (2007), 'Mopping Up Karma' (2008), 'The Beautiful Damage Collection' (2010), 'Ebb and Flow' (2014), and 'Somebody's Child' (2017)

Why she might be annoying:

She's married to Mr. Burns from the Simpsons!
She has filmed several bizarre parody music videos in conjunction with her husband.
The cover to her 'reDiscovered' album is literally a photo of the back of her head.
Since 2005, her songs have almost exclusively been released under the labels founded by herself and her husband (Courgette Records and later Twanky Records).
She said: 'Sharing your space with another human being is not easy for anybody…We’re all going to be irritated by each other. Why doesn’t anybody ever tell their children, ‘You’ll hate the person you love and then you’ll love them again, and then you’ll hate them and they’ll just drive you crazy and you’ll want to kill them, and then you’ll love them to bits again’? That should be put into the school curriculum!'

Why she might not be annoying:

She counted John Mitchell and Stevie Wonder as among her musical influences.
The Sunday Times UK chose her 'Somebody's Child' album as one of the Best Records of 2016.
She dedicated her song 'I Would Give Anything' to her father, who passed away from cancer during the recording of her tenth album.
Her cover of Deep Purple's 'Smoke on the Water' has been used as bumper music on Coast to Coast AM.
She is equally at home in both the Folk and Jazz genres, but has been able to cover contemporary artists' work as well, including Drake and Ed Sheeran.
She has recorded and toured with Richard Thompson several times, most notably on his '1000 Years of Popular Music' tour.
Her big break internationally came when she was invited to perform with Bryan Ferry during his 2015 UK tour.
When Ferry came down with a throat infection, their London Royal Albert Hall performance was cancelled. Several journalists insisted on hearing her sing anyway, and she staged a private acoustic recital for them at their home, earning rave reviews in the process.
