    (November 24, 1864-September 9, 1901)
Famous for his images of Parisian entertainers and prostitutes, many of which took the form of posters for night clubs like the Moulin Rouge.
    Suffered from depression
Accidents involving his legs (two years apart) essentially stunted his growth.
He consorted frequently with prostitutes for female company.
'Teapot' was a pet name the prostitutes gave him.
He frequently gave away his paintings in exchange for drinks.
His first poster for the Moulin Rouge (in 1893) was enough to create attention to the Montmarte nightclub (out of curiosity more than anything).
His style was influenced heavily by Japanese woodblock prints.
His disability was no hinderance to his artistic proficiency.
