The Resume

    (February 13, 1949-July 12, 2020)
    Born in London, United Kingdom
Member of Fairport Convention (1967-68) and Trader Horne (1969-70)
Recorded the solo albums ‘Enchanted Garden’ (2004), ‘Spindle’ (2006), ‘The Whorl’ (2006), ‘Talking with Strangers’ (2009), ‘Flow and Change’ (2013), ‘Earth Is Sleeping’ (2018), and ‘Weavings of a Silver Magic (Live at St. Barnabus Church Cambridge)’ (2020)

Why she might be annoying:

She was almost as well known for knitting on stage while the other members of Fairport Convention jammed as for her singing.
She was overshadowed by her replacement in Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny.
She disappeared from the entertainment industry for two and a half decades.
She recorded a commercial for her husband’s cassette duplicating firm that turned the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’ into ‘Amazing Tape.’

Why she might not be annoying:

She introduced her then-boyfriend Ian McDonald to Robert Fripp, leading to the formation of King Crimson.
She said about her decision to leave the music biz, ‘I don’t think I could have brought up the children and be on the road.’
She joined Fairport Convention for concerts celebrating the band’s 30th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries.
’Record Collector’ noted about her solo albums, ‘Unusually, unlike most other recordings by musicians re-entering the studio after a long break, these don’t sound either like a recreation of her past style or a forced attempt to adopt contemporary trends.’
