The Resume

    (May 9, 1907-February 20, 1976)
    Born in Concordia, Missouri
    Pentecostal evangelist and faith healer
Hosted the TV show 'I Believe in Miracles'

Why she might be annoying:

Her husband, Burroughs Waltrip, abandoned his wife and two children to be with her.
Her books about faith healing were ghost-written.
A follow-up study by Dr. William Nolen of 23 people who claimed to be healed by her found that not one had been cured.
One woman who took off her brace and ran across the stage after being 'healed' of spinal cancer suffered a collapsed vertebra the next day and died four months later.
Some of her faith healing techniques were copied by Benny Hinn.

Why she might not be annoying:

She filled the 2,000-seat Carnegie Auditorium in Pittsburgh three times a week for 10 years and the 7,000-seat Shrine Auditorium in LA for monthly services for 20 years.
Dr. Nolen felt she was not deliberately defrauding people but sincerely believed in her healing abilities.
Her motto was 'I believe in miracles, because I believe in God.'
